Perito Moreno Glacier, Argentina
This is one of a series of videos I will be putting up from our travels in South America. The Perito Moreno Glacier is one of 3 glaciers in the world which is not receding and tourists flock there to see large sections of ice calve into the water. We even went on an ice trekking tour along the inner ridges of the glacier itself.
Magic Water Tour, Lima (Peru)
The Magic Water Tour is a water fountain park in Lima, Peru where you can actually watch video, lasers and light all interacting with water jets in an incredible display of motion and sound. There are also interactive fountains and a maze fountain, just two of 13 in total.
Engineering
I graduated from the University of Western Australia with degrees in Computer Science (IT applications) and Electrical Engineering (Power Engineering).
I worked for almost 3 years at Western Power both as a vacation student and graduate in the fields of Asset Management, Power Quality, Protection Commissioning and Services, Power Station Maintenance (now Verve Energy) and System Management.
I am now working part time on a research and development project for Close Comfort in the field of air conditioning, as well as a variety of ongoing personal engineering projects which revolve mostly around sustainable energy or electric vehicles.
Photography
I have taken up Photography semi seriously in recent times with the purchase of a Nikon D90 and various lenses. I sell some of my photos (and video) on iStockPhoto.
If you need a photographer for a project, feel free to get in contact.
Video
I have put together a number of video projects for various clients. I have filmed, edited and made videos for graduation ceremony, music videos, weddings and other projects. If you would like to find out more about what I can offer in the way of video services, please have a look at Video Online my video making website.
Music
I started playing piano classically when fairly young, but then picked up the cello at primary school. (there were only 3 instrument choice options at Albany Primary School at the time). Shortly after picking up the cello I gave up the classic piano training. In year 10, I was lucky enough to try some Jazz Piano lessons under retired big band co-ordinater Will Upson, and loved it! Since then I have played solo piano at 5 star hotels, performed with a variety of jazz singers in and around Perth, as well larger swing bands at Quaranup Music Camp. Now I teach basic chord theory, jazz and blues improvisation to several private students in Perth. If you are interested in learning piano, then please contact me. I always give my first lesson free, so there's nothing to lose.
Now I play accordion in Perth Gypsy Tango band Zigatango. The piano accordion is quite similar to the piano in that the right hand side is literally a smaller piano keyboard layout mounted vertically on the instrument. The left side consists of a series of buttons which are aligned to give major, minor, 7th and diminished chord influences, each consecutive row cycling through the circle of 5ths.
